Shawn Grenke, Accompanist
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Music degree (2000) from Mount Allison University
(Sackville, New Brunswick) and a Master of Music degree from the University of
Toronto (2002). He has served as organist and music director for eight churches
in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, and is presently the Director of
Music at All Saints’ Kingsway Anglican Church in Toronto.
Shawn has traveled throughout North America and Europe as a conductor and
accompanist. Last Spring he traveled with the Hamilton Children’s Choir to
Poland where they took part in the Song-bridge music festival. As well, in May
2008, he returned to Mount Allison University where he accompanied the Amadeus
Choir of Toronto at ‘Podium’ the ACCC (Association of Canadian Choral
Conductors) biennial conference.
As the accompanist for the Niagara International Music Festival, Shawn has had
the pleasure of working with Bob Chilcott, Stephen Hatfield, Paul Halley, Dr.
Doreen Rao, Jonathan Willcocks, and Stephen Hatfield. Shawn has also worked with
The Orpheus Choir of Toronto, The Toronto Choral Society and the Toronto
Children’s Choir. Shawn is currently the accompanist for the Amadeus Choir of
Toronto under the direction of Lydia Adams and the Assistant Conductor and
Accompanist for the Hamilton Children’s Choirs with Artistic Director Zimfira
Poloz.
