The Amadeus Choir and the Hannaford Street Silver Band present Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, a masterwork for band and chorus. This concert
also features Harry Somers' A Thousand Ages, Stephen Chatman's Reconciliation,
and Barbara Croall's Gi-Giiwe Na?, a lament for Native Canadian Soldiers recently
commissioned by the HSSB.

Profoundly moving, Rodion Shchedrin's music drama The Sealed Angel is one of the
most important Russian works of the 20th century. Brilliantly choreographed by Lars
Scheibner (Germany), performed by Toronto's Elmer Iseler Singers and the Amadeus
Choir, conducted by Lydia Adams and featuring ProArteDanza, this hypnotic choral
opera is a contemporary answer to Rachmaninov's Vespers. The program also includes a
new choreography by ProArteDanza.

On the eve of Earth Day, join us as we celebrate Dr. Roberta Bondar's 20th anniversary of flight in space. Her photographic explorations interweave with the sounds of the Amadeus Choir and Elmer Iseler Singers for a stunning presentation of two world premieres: Light in the Darkness - The Earth Sings by Lydia Adams (text by Roberta Bondar) and And Yet It Moves, music and lyrics by Jason Jestadt.
